SOF Inspects 1st of 20 Fast Patrol Boats Procured By BOC
As part of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) commitment to enhancing border security measures, the Bureau through the Enforcement and Security Service Water Patrol Division (ESS-WPD) facilitated the inspection of the first of its newly acquired water assets on Sept. 20, 2021.
The inspection was conducted by Department of Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez and BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero. Deputy Commissioner for Internal Administration Group Donato B. San Juan and Enforcement Group Deputy Commissioner Teddy S. Raval were also present.
The vessels are composed of 20 units of 12.7-meter boats equipped with three engines capable of doing over 45 knots top speed. The boats will be used in boarding formalities, patrol, and water pursuits within the nation’s borders.
Indeed, the Bureau of Customs is well on its way to a modernized Customs Organization under the leadership of Commissioner Guerrero.
