  • What is the shipping method of items purchased on-line? 
    • The sender or merchant will send the item purchased online through an international courier like DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS, Philpost, to name a few.
    • The shipping cost will be paid depending on the arrangement of the Seller and Buyer.
    • The value of all the contents and the specific description should be declared correctly at the Postage / air waybill.
    • Wait for the copy of the Postage / Air Waybill to monitor the shipping of parcels going to the destination.
    • Be reminded of all the regulations in the country of import or destination.

  • What is the process after the arrival of parcels in the Philippines?
    • All items bought online will be unloaded from the carrying aircraft and will be transported under guard going to the Customs Bonded Warehouse or designated storage facility.
    • Depending on the courier, this will be received by the Warehouse Operator of the respective Bonded Warehouse or facility.
    • All items will pass through X-ray screening and K9 dog sniffing.
    • It will pass through all the customs clearance process and be subjected to Physical Examination or further compliance depending on the existing regulations.
    • After complete compliance, it will be delivered by the courier to the named claimant.

  • What is the process of physical examination for held parcels?
    • Processing of held items is in accordance with existing regulations for importation of regulated or restricted goods with additional requirements;  Value with more than PHP 10,000.00, among others.
    • The courier is responsible to notify all claimants through notification letters, electronic mails, phone calls or text messages.
    • Claimants may coordinate with the concerned courier and Customs for faster compliance and processing.

  • What is the delivery process?
    • Once cleared for delivery, all items will be sent by the courier directly to the stated address of the claimant.

  • How is the processing of items valued at more than PHP 10,000?
    • There will be tax due if the value exceeds the de minimis value of PHP 10,000; the rate will depend on the item.
    • It may be paid directly at the customs cashier or via the courier account.
    • Request for receipt after payment.
    • Please be reminded that the Bureau of Customs never asks payment of taxes or any government charges via deposit or via private – individual accounts. Don’t be a victim of a scam.
