Joint elements of the Manila International Container Port-Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service of the Bureau of Customs, Quezon City Police District, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, PNP-NCRPO, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, seized an estimated 12 kilograms of suspected Methampethamine Hydrochloride also known as “shabu” in a buy-bust operation on 12 April 2022 in Quezon City.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) has been facilitating the expeditious release of various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and COVID-19 vaccines. As of March 2022, the BOC successfully processed and cleared 16,142 shipments of PPE and 243 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

Determined to sustain and further optimize its gains from the Performance Governance System (PGS), the Intelligence Group (IG) in collaboration with the Enforcement Group (EG), Port of Batangas, and the National Bureau of Investigation- Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) conducted a governance sharing activity held on 07 April 2022 at the OCOM Situation Room and via MS Teams.

As part of its commitment to prevent the entry of illegal goods into the country, the Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA (BOC-NAIA) condemned various regulated goods without health and safety clearances seized by the Port, which includes food items, unlabeled medicines, vape juice and linhua qingwen medicines among others. The said regulated goods were seized on various occassions as part of BOC-NAIA’s border security and anti-smuggling campaign.
The World Customs Organization (WCO), through Mr. Jonathan Fellows, Senior Technical Officer, WCO Capacity Building Directorate, conducted the Assessment of the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) Implementation Status of the World Trade Organization-Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) on 28-29 March 2022, in Manila.
