BOC-NAIA And NAIA-DITG arrested Claimant of 100 Ecstacy Tablets concealed in documents

As part of intensified joint anti-illegal drug operations, the Port of NAIA and the NAIA Inter-agency Drug Interdiction Taskgroup (NAIA-DITG) arrested the consignee of package containing 100 pieces of ecstacy tablets in Bulacan.

The controlled delivery operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) with the assistance of the members of BOC-NAIA’s Enforcement and Security Service as part of NAIA-DITG. The shipment was intercepted in the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) from the Netherlands.

The shipment was declared as “letter” but upon physical examination was also found to contain concealed 100 pieces of ecstacy tablets with estimated market value of Php 170,000.00

The claimant and seized drugs were turned over to PDEA for custodial investigation and inquest for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act and RA 10863 also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).

Last November 16, 2021, BOC NAIA, PDEA, and NAIA-IADITG also arrested claimant of package declared as “wedding dress” containing 3.38 million worth of Ecstasy tablets in Taytay, Rizal.

The Port of NAIA under the direction of BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero continues its strong coordination with other government agencies to safeguard against the entry of illegal drugs into the country
