BOC-CLARK, CAIDTF, ESS, CISS, XIP & PDEA Strengthens Border Security, Seize Php1.95-M Worth of High Grade Kush Marijuana & Arrest Consignee

May 6, 2022

The Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark, together with the Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF), Enforcement & Security Service (ESS), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), X-ray Inspection Project (XIP) & Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), seized 1500 grams of High Grade “Kush” Marijuana with an estimated value of Php 1,950,000.00 and arrested the consignee in a controlled delivery operations in Angeles City.

The Bureau of Customs discovered the said illegal drugs in a shipment that was said to contain “plastic parts-fabricated plastic parts” from Greenwich, Connecticut, USA last April 29, 2022. Said shipment was subjected to x-ray scanning which revealed images of organic substances. This prompted the conduct of 100% physical examination that resulted to the findings of three (3) transparent plastic packs of green leaves suspected to be Kush Marijuana.

The CAIDTF conducted K9 sweeping and field testing, which yielded positive result for the presence of Marijuana. Representative samples were then taken and turned over to PDEA for chemical laboratory analysis. The results of the analysis confirmed that said leaves are indeed Marijuana, a dangerous drug under R.A. 9165.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued by District Collector Alexandra Lumontad against the subject shipment for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d), and 1113 (f) of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10863 in relation to Section 4 of R.A. No. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On May 5, 2022, joint elements of BOC & PDEA conducted a controlled delivery operation to the consignee’s address in Angeles City which resulted in the arrest of the consignee.

With the continuous partnership with PDEA, the Port of Clark has seized 21 drug shipments equivalent to a total estimated value of Php60-million pesos with five (5) claimants arrested from January 2022 to date.

The Port of Clark, consistent to the anti-illegal drugs campaign of Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero and the war on drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte, will remain vigilant in preventing the entry of illegal drugs in the country.
