BRIEFER: 30 OCTOBER – 04 NOVEMBER 2017 AT THE POM
In summary, the Port of Manila processed 5,980 Entries – ranging from Transshipment, Warehousing, Export, Formal and Informal – generally for the period of 30 October – 04 November 2017, among which 39 containers containing Balikbayan boxes were processed.
There was one (1) Warrant of Seizure Detention (WSD) issued by the Law Division and no Alert Order issued. Two (2) lots were successfully auctioned generating more than Php. 3.5 Million. There is no scheduled for Auction for next week.
POM’s Status Verification System
On 30 October 2017, the POM automated “Status Verification System” (SVS) was demonstrated to the BOC Commissioner Isidro Lapeña.
For better visual instructions, the list of abbreviations in the SVS and their respective meaning were posted with bigger prints at the SVS kiosks.
Automated Queuing System
The POM’s automated queuing system, which is on “test run”, was also demonstrated to the BOC Commissioner Isidro Lapeña last 30 October 2017. In line with the “no sectioning”, the automated queuing system (AQS) will randomly assign entries to the examiners.
2015 List of Regulated Items
In further support of the ‘No Sectioning” and to hasten the learning curb of the examiners, the 2015 List of Regulated Items, consisting of more than six thousand one hundred pages (6,100+++), was downloaded in three (3) CPUs at the FED. The said list can be used by examiners as reference when they come across imported items which they are unfamiliar with. They can now also copy the said list and download it in their respective personal data device (e.g. tablet, etc.)
TV at the Lobby
The LCD Television at the POM Lobby is also playing the SVS screensaver showcasing the various projects/programs/events of the Port of Manila, such as “Green Thumb: POM Environmental Initiative” which includes “Walis Linis Kinis”, various “Puso ng P.O.M.” programs, which already counts around eight (8) outreach programs, and POM awarding of commendations.
Similarly it has a marquee or running display of the ODC Hotline Numbers which can be easily reached by stakeholders for any complaints.
Holy Mass
Holy Mass was celebrated at the POM lobby on 03 November 2017.
GREEN LIGHT: POM’s Emergency Preparedness Program
The official logo for “Green Light: POM’s Emergency Preparedness Program” has been adopted.
GREEN THUMB: POM’s Environmental Initiative
As a continuing project, additional plants were introduced at the said gardens and steel bar supports were also installed for the hanging plants.
WALIS LINIS KINIS
Trash bins at the designated smoking area were also spray-painted with the request “HUWAG MAGKALAT, KEEP POM CLEAN”.
Skeletal Force
In compliance, POM was manned by skeletal force on 31 October 2017 and 01 November 2017.
POM Facebook Page
The POM Facebook page was updated with its new posts on the following
“Changes call for innovation and innovation leads to progress.” – Li Keqiang
[1] The data needed under this column is sourced from the reports of the respective FED Sections and consolidated by The FED. However, with the “no sectioning” implemented by the POM no report from the FED Sections could be generated anymore. Hence, alternative sources were used. As to the “Entries Filed” data was from the EPU. As to the “Entries Completed” data came from the MISTG. The “Entries in Progress” for the reported week was simply extracted by adding the “Entries in Progress” the week previous to the reported week to the “Entries Filed” during the reported week minus the “Entries Completed” during the reported week..
[2] Transshipment Entries reported for the period 30 October – 04 November 2017.
[3] Warehousing reported for the period 30 October – 03 November 2017.
[4] Informal Entry reported for the period 30 October – 03 November 2017. [5] 12 remaining Entries still in progress from the previous week/s. [6] 32 entries reported pending, the same pending reported last week. WAD reported them as “Lifting of Abandonment is in process.” [7] 69 Entries from week/s previous to the covered week but completed only during the week covered by this report.
