BRIEFER: 13-18 NOVEMBER 2017 AT THE POM

In summary, the Port of Manila processed 6,681 Entries – ranging from Transshipment, Warehousing, Export, Formal and Informal – generally for the period of 13-18 November 2017, among which 40 containers containing Balikbayan boxes were processed.

There was no Warrant of Seizure Detention (WSD) issued by the Law Division and no Alert Order issued.  There were seven (7) lots Auctioned for the said period while there are twenty-two (22) lots scheduled for auction for next week.

 

POM’s Status Verification System

To further serve the transacting public, a 3^rd SVS kiosk is being constructed.

Formal Entry Division

To compensate for the longer stay at the computers by the examiners either due to E@M lag, due to learning curb or to update the SVS, additional seventeen (17) computers at the Formal Entry Division were cabled and connected to the E2M for use by the examiners.

Info Drive: Facebook

Notices were posted at the POM bulletin boards inviting even the transacting public to visit, like and share the BOC and POM facebook accounts. The same shall be posted in the screensavers next week.

Skeletal Force

The POM, in order to serve the transacting public, deployed skeletal forces from 13 to 15 November 2017

Holy Mass

Holy Mass was celebrated at the POM lobby on 17 November 2017.

GREEN LIGHT: POM’s Emergency Preparedness Program

Aside from previous projects under the “Green Light”^[5], stickers bearing emergency telephone numbers were placed near all the landlines at the POM Building.

GREEN THUMB: POM’s Environmental Initiative

In order to reduce garbage for disposal and to instill recycling of materials, located in the POM garden are a composting pit and a pet bottle pen.

Continuity Plan

Under the “Continuity Plan” of the ODCAd and the Administrative Division, the scanning of Leave Cards of POM personnel have been completed and stored in an external hard drive as back-up file/s.   The Administrative Division is now double checking if all leave cards were so stored.

[2] 35 entries reported pending, 27 of which were also reported as pending the previous week. WAD reported 20 out of 35 entries as “Lifting of Abandonment is in process.”

[4] Projected collection for the 22 lots to be auctioned is Php.45,238,969.63

[5]   Among which are – a]  All fire extinguishers now sport a tag with easy visual instructions on how to operate them using the acronyms “PASS” and “BIPI”.  “PASS” stands for pull the pin, aim at the base of the fire, squeeze the handle and sweep from side to side. “BIPI”, an original from POM, is the Pilipino equivalent of “PASS”, which stands for bunutin and pin, Itutok  sa puno ng apoy, pisilin ang hawakan at Ibaling sa kaliwa’t kanan ng apoy. b]   Floor plans were enhanced to indicate the location of fire hoses, fire alarms and fire extinguishers at the POM Building.
