On June 20, 2017, the Port of Davao condemned a shipment of 2×40’ Container No. EISU5682860 STC: 435 bags of yellow onion and 2,664 bags of red onion and Container No. EMCU5377653 STC: 450 bags of yellow onion and 2,649 bags of red onion declared under Import Entry No. C-12840-2016 consigned to Equicent Import and Export Corp.
The condemnation was spearheaded by District Collector Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria. Along with him were Deputy Collector Atty. Dante A. Maranan, cpa, and the members of the Auction and Cargo Disposal Committee headed by committee chairperson Ms. Rechilda T. Oquias. Also present during the activity were representatives from the Commission on Audit, Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Plant Industries – National Plant Quarantine Services Division and personnel of MALFER ENTERPRISES, the BOC accredited service provider for the rendering and disposal of perishable and non-perishable condemned cargoes. The containers were transported to a MALFER ENTERPRISES facility in Tagum City where the condemnation took place and from there the condemned items were transported to the designated dump site. |
