The Port of Davao discussed its financial plan and proposed projects for 2018 and 2019 during its 2017 Strategic Planning last Friday, August 4, 2017.

Ma. Isabel A. Macasil, Budget Officer, presented how much the Port has spent for the year. She also presented the remaining funds of the Port.

The officers from the different divisions and units of the Port of Davao proposed trainings, activities and projects for the remaining funds of the Port.

Among the proposed projects is the recycling of unused and donated cargo containers as multi-purpose rooms. The officers proposed to reuse the containers as a canteen and office spaces.

To extend the project as part of the Gender and Development (GAD) Plan, the officers also proposed to create a breastfeeding station, and a child-minding center from the containers.  The Magna Carta for Women directs all government offices to implement GAD projects which the Commission on Audit (COA) monitors and checks.

The officers have also set deadlines for their Revised Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP). The PPMP will be submitted to the Bureau of Customs Manila for inclusion in the Annual Procurement Plan for 2018. Similarly, the officers have planned to finish their 2019 PPMP before the end of September this year.
