MICP FACILITATES SHIP-OUT OF BALIKBAYAN BOXES

December 22, 2022

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) started shipping out balikbayan boxes in various parts of the country to alleviate the plight of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who were victimized by unscrupulous consolidators abroad.

Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz ordered the delivery of the remaining abandoned boxes closer to recipients to ease their burden in keeping with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order to protect the interests and welfare of OFWs.

A total of ten 20-footer containers carrying balikbayan boxes consigned to All Win Cargo LLC and Cargoflex Haulers Corporation were transported to various BOC Collection Districts in Visayas and Mindanao for distribution.

Meanwhile, the boxes destined for the Luzon area, except Metro Manila, will be distributed by the Collection Districts, which have jurisdiction over the cities or municipalities where the boxes are bound.

The BOC – Manila International Container Port (MICP) will continue to post updates on its official Facebook page at facebook.com/bocmicp.#
