Donia Hammami, Executive in Charge of HMRC expressed her gratitude to the Bureau of Customs (BOC)

May 11, 2022

Donia Hammami, Executive in Charge of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) Trade Facilitation Capacity Building Programme, expressed her gratitude to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for the years of successful partnership in the implementation of the Trade Facilitation Agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO(sad)

“On behalf of the World Customs Organization, it has been my great pleasure to work closely with the Commissioner and the men and women of the Philippines’ Bureau of Customs these past few years on the implementation of the Trade Facilitation Agreement of the WTO, making cross-border trade quicker, easier, and less costly for companies of all sizes and vital towards economic recovery and supply chain resilience.

It is impressive to see progress achieved in the transition made since 2019 by the BOC, especially considering the very difficult circumstances in the COVID-19 pandemic context. It has truly been inspiring, not only for me, but also for other customs administrations around the world that have had looked at the Philippines’ examples and also of course, in the context of the ASEAN.”
