The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Davao seized 1,020 master cases of smuggled cigarettes with an estimated value of Php 28,872,000.00 on Jan. 18, 2022, at Davao International Container Terminal (DICT), Panabo City, Davao Del Norte.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has further intensified its anti-corruption campaign under the leadership of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero as 1,153 show-cause orders were issued in 2021, which led to the dismissal, suspension, relief, and reshuffling of errant BOC employees.

With an objective to attain a more streamlined and efficient customs processes and procedures, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) developed and implemented 31 Information Communication Technology (ICT) projects and systems as of December 2021 and further aims to fully automate its frontline transactions.
