To implement pertinent provisions of RA 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) 2016 related to the establishment and supervision of Customs Bonded Warehouse (CBW) and to consolidate all existing Customs Administrative Orders (CAOs) dealing on CBWs, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) issues CAO No. 01-2022 with subject “Customs Bonded Warehouses”.

The Bureau of Customs officially submitted the report on the “Readiness Assessment for Cross-Border Paperless Trade: The Philippines” on March 01, 2022, to fulfill its obligation as a member party to the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (CPTA). The report is co-published by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC).
Through the combined efforts of the Bureau’s Action Team Against Smugglers (BATAS) under the Revenue Collection Monitoring Group (RCMG), the Port of Subic, and the Port of Cebu, the BOC successfully filed criminal complaints on 4 March 2022 before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against three (3) traders of alleged smuggled agricultural products amounting to over P25.8 million.
As part of the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) drive against smuggling, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service Field Office-Intellectual Property Rights Division (CIIS-IPRD) and BOC-Port of Manila seized smuggled counterfeit goods amounting to an estimated value of Php 80 million in Pasay City on February 28, 2022.
