Consistent to President Rodrigo Duterte’s fight against illegal drugs and Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero’s mandate to intensify anti-illegal drugs campaign, the Bureau of Customs Port of Clark, in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) – Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), and X-ray Inspection Project (XIP), seized 470 grams of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu) with an estimated value of Php 3-million masked in a shipment of “clothing” from Strand, South Africa.
As part of the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) drive against smuggling, the BOC Intelligence Group (IG) Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Right Division (CIIS-IPRD) and the BOC-Port of Manila (BOC-POM) seized approximately Php1.1 billion worth of counterfeit goods in an operation conducted at Baclaran Wholesale Complex Corner F.B. Harrison and J. Fernando Streets, Baclaran, Pasay City on November 29, 2021.
In spite of the restrictions brought about by the pandemic and its effects to the overall trade environment, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Revenue Collection Monitoring Group (RCMG) on December 01, 2021 reported that its November revenue collection amounted to P58.789 billion, 13.39% higher than its target of P51.847 billion, based on the preliminary report.
As part of its commitment to strive towards a modernized and a world-class Customs Administration, the Bureau of Customs will establish Quality Management Units (QMU) in all its 17 collection districts to guarantee the continuity and success of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) activities in each port.
To provide equal importance to the employee’s physical and mental health, the Bureau of Customs-Port of Subic in coordination with the Interim Training Development Division conducted a training entitled “Training on Health Awareness: Building up Immunity Amidst the Pandemic” on Nov. 16, 2021.
