The Bureau of Customs-Port of Manila (BOC-POM) zeroed out all overstaying foreign containers at the Asian Terminals, Inc. (ATI) Laguna Inland Clearance Depot, an extension of the Manila South Harbor.

An estimated P5.1M worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as “Shabu” were seized, while two claimants were nabbed after a successful anti-drug interdiction operation jointly conducted by the Bureau of Customs NAIA, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group in Central Mail Exchange Center on June 02, 2022.

Consistent with its mandate to collect lawful revenues for the country, the Bureau of Customs surpassed its May 2022 target collection by 20.8% or P11.767 billion, with an actual collection of P68.245 B against the P56.478 B target collection.

Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero facilitated the 4th Meeting of the National Single Window – Technical Working Group (NSW-TWG) on May 12, 2022, pursuant to the role of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) under Executive Order No. 482, s. 2005 “Creating the NSW Task Force for Cargo Clearance.”

In an email to all ASEAN Members States (AMS), the ASEAN Secretariat has announced the live electronic exchange of the ASEAN Customs Declaration Document (ACDD) of the Philippines with Brunei and Indonesia starting May 13, 2022, using the ASEAN Single Window (ASW) system.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) headed by Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero and Port of NAIA District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan on May 20, 2022, officially launched the BOC NAIA Exhibit Hall which highlights accomplishments on seized illegal goods, wildlife species and other contrabands.

The Bureau of Customs, through the Manila International Container Port-Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (MICP-CIIS) and Enforcement and Security Service (MICP-ESS), together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) inspected a warehouse in Valenzuela City for suspected smuggled goods on May 13, 2022.

Further reinforcing the anti-illegal drugs campaign mandated by Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero and President Rodrigo Duterte, the Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark, together with the Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF), Enforcement & Security Service (ESS), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), X-ray Inspection Project (XIP) & Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), seized 3,982 grams of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or “Shabu” with an estimated value of Php 27,475,000.00 and arrested two (2) claimants in a controlled delivery operation last May 25, 2022.
