The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is calling on all overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families to claim the 294 remaining balikbayan boxes currently in BOC custody. These boxes, identified with Bill of Lading numbers ONEYKW1TA1994400, ONEYKW1TA1968500, ONEYKW1TA1998800 and consigned to Mediacom Express Cargo and Pinoy Network Cargo WLL, arrived in the Philippines from Kuwait on February 12, 2023. Unfortunately, they were abandoned by the forwarder after collecting payments from abroad, leaving our OFWs and their families without their hard-earned balikbayan boxes.
Two days after the Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) conducted a joint inspection on currency declarations at NAIA Terminal 1, the BOC-NAIA intercepted undeclared foreign currencies amounting to 47 million Japanese Yen or PhP17.2 million on 27 June 2024 at NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) announced the successful exchange of the electronic Phytosanitary (e-Phyto) certificate between the Philippines and Indonesia through the ASEAN Single Window (ASW) regional platform during the 67th Meeting of the Working Group on Technical Matters for the ASW (TWG). The meeting was held via hybrid platform from June 10-13, 2024, at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia.

This is in line with Executive Order No. 33, series of 2023 and Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 37, series of 2023 adopting the 2023-2027 National Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorism Financing, Counter Proliferation Financing Strategy (NACS).
In a significant stride against the smuggling of agricultural goods, the Bureau of Customs (BOC), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), conducted a successful anti-smuggling operation which resulted in the uncovering illegally imported agricultural products valued at an estimated PhP100 million.
The Philippine (PH) Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Hong Kong (HK) Customs conducted a joint validation visit under the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program at Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. The Philippine Bureau of Customs attended the 33rd regular Meeting of the ASEAN Directors-General of Customs held on June 04-06, 2024, in Phu Quoc, Viet Nam, hosted and chaired by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
