CAAP Shares Airport Modernization Plans with BOC-Davao

October 29, 2022

The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Davao recently met with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Davao to discuss the latter’s modernization plans at the Davao International Airport (DIA), including the improvements of BOC’s Airport Operations Unit.

The meeting was held on October 25, 2022, at the BOC-Davao Conference Room.

CAAP Security and Intelligence Services (CSIS) Supervisor led the discussions on current airport modernization projects, including expanding the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) check-in area.

The PTB expansion will be dedicated to international flights with an estimated capacity of 700 passengers. The existing terminal building will be used for domestic flights with 1,500 passengers.

Lawyer Mohammad M. Ben-Usman, Deputy Collector for Administration and Customs Airport Operations Unit, represented BOC-Davao District Collector, lawyer Erastus Sandino B. Austria.

Ben-Usman discussed BOC’s mandates and accomplishments and cited the Office’s plan to make Davao the premier logistics hub in the ASEAN region.

The BOC Davao, through the supervision of District Collector Austria and the guidance of Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz, will continue to observe the government’s policy on ease of doing business to encourage foreign investors to transact with the Port. These align with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ 8-point economic agenda for a better Philippines.#
