The Bureau of Customs (BOC) alerts the public regarding fraudulent social media accounts using illegally obtained photos of the Commissioner of Customs and making false pretenses and representations. These unauthorized accounts are misleading individuals by requesting money for customs-related activities, deceiving them into believing that these are legitimate transactions.

The BOC stresses that it does not conduct any transactions through social media or other online platforms. The Commissioner does not own or operate any social media accounts for customs activities.

In response to these incidents, the BOC has coordinated with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to take down the fraudulent accounts and ensure the perpetrators be held accountable.

The BOC urges everyone to remain vigilant and cautious. If you come across any suspicious accounts claiming to be the Commissioner and attempting to solicit payments, do not engage with them. Instead, immediately report these fake accounts to the BOC through its verified social media channels, official email, or hotline for further investigation.

The BOC is committed in protecting the public from fraud and will take swift legal action against individuals misusing the Commissioner’s name to exploit others.
