BOC Warns Public About Fake Facebook Accounts

July 14, 2025

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) warns the public about a rising number of fake Facebook accounts unlawfully using its name, logo, and branding, including impersonating BOC officials to mislead the public.

The agency has received reports that these false accounts have targeted victims by sending messages, replying to comments, and pretending to be a legitimate BOC account by copying updates and information from the official page of the Bureau and reposting the same.

The BOC urges everyone to exercise caution when interacting with accounts claiming to represent the agency. The public is advised not to share personal information, send payments, or engage with any unverified accounts. The BOC maintains only one verified Facebook page as the official source of updates, announcements, and services.

The BOC is actively working to report and remove these accounts and encourages the public to report suspicious pages directly to Facebook or through the agency’s hotline at (02) 8705-6000 or via email at boc.cares@customs.gov.ph.

Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno assures the public of the agency’s commitment of addressing this and similar issues, saying, “We are taking firm action against these fraudulent activities. Protecting the public from scams and preserving the integrity of the BOC, is one of our top priorities.”

For accurate and transparent information, the public is reminded to communicate only through the agency’s verified Facebook page and authorized platforms:
