On December 21, 2022, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of San Fernando received a 1×40’ container bearing 184 balikbayan boxes which was part of the 4,625 packages consolidated by All Win Cargo LLC but subsequently abandoned by its deconsolidator, Cargoflex Haulers Corporation.
The immediate and safe distribution of these balikbayan boxes is pursuant to the commitment of Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon L. Ruiz to give hope and joy to the families of our hardworking OFWs this yuletide season. The BOC Port of San Fernando has been exhausting all avenues to expedite the release of the boxes to the respective recipients dwelling in La Union, Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Mountain Province, and Baguio City.
With the guidance of Commissioner Ruiz, the men and women of BOC Port of San Fernando, in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard Northwestern Luzon Station, the City Mayor of Baguio City and stakeholders of the Port, are determined to finish the distribution of the Balikbayan Boxes in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to protect the interests of migrant workers.#
