BOC Port of Manila Facilitates the Release of Abandoned Balikbayan Boxes

January 14, 2023

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Manila (POM) received 105 balikbayan boxes and started its distribution in Luzon on December 27, 2022.

The boxes were part of All Win cargo LLC shipments but were abandoned by its deconsolidator, Cargoflex Haulers Corporation.

The POM distributed 94 boxes in Cavite and Rizal Province, while three boxes were bound for Bataan, Batangas, and Quezon Province. There are 11 remaining boxes for distribution that were already coordinated with their claimants.

Recipients may claim the packages at Con Pac Warehousing in Paco, Manila, or may coordinate with the POM Auction and Cargo Disposal Division (ACDD) at 8633-1862 for inquiries.

The release of abandoned boxes is free of charge for the families of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) as directed by Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz.

The Port of Manila commits to protect the welfare of the OFWs from unscrupulous consolidators under the leadership of Ruiz, in line with the marching orders of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. #
