The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Limay seized various used articles that were illegally withdrawn from a Freeport Registered Enterprise on July 15 and 16, 2022.
Armed with Mission Order No. LMY-2022-20 and E-16-2022-11, issued by District Collector Atty. William Balayo, agents of the Port of Limay conducted checkpoints in Roman Highway, Brgy. Alas-asin and Mt. View, Mariveles, Bataan wherein two (2) white L300 vans containing copper wires and welding machines, one (1) white Foton Gratour loaded with chain block, and one (1) Nissan Terra used as an escort vehicle were apprehended and seized.
Twelve (12) suspects—eleven (11) Filipinos and one (1) Chinese National were invited to the Port of Limay, along with their conveyances and cargoes, for proper documentation and investigation.
The Port of Limay, headed by District Collector Atty. William B. Balayo, assures the public that they will continue their vigilance against unlawful activities to suppress smuggling of imported goods, and will further enhance their border control and border protection operations to safeguard the public welfare.
