BOC Port of Davao, 1st major Port in Visayas and Mindanao, now ISO Certified

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Davao was awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Certification by TUV SUD on March 21, 2022, at the OCOM Conference Room, South Harbor, Manila.

The Port of Davao underwent the second and final stage of the External Quality Audit on December 14-16, 2021, where the said Port was recommended for the issuance of ISO 9001:2015 Certification, making it the first major port in Visayas and Mindanao to be ISO certified.

A total of 17 customs processes were submitted for ISO certification which include Assessment, Operations, Administrative, Customer Care Center Services, Passenger Service, and Airport Cargo Operations. The Port also enrolled its support units such as its Management Information and Technology Group (MISTG), Enforcement Security Service (ESS), X-ray Inspection Project (XIP), and the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS).

Moreover, District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria thanked the auditors, process owners, and all the personnel who helped during the ISO journey of the port. He also expressed gratitude to the BOC Central Office for their extended support to the POD Team.

For the year 2022, the Port of Davao will enroll new processes for ISO Certification. This will include its Sub-port in Dadiangas which is set to conduct its Internal Audit on June 15, 2022.
