BOC-Port of Cebu Generates Over Php17 Million from Auction Sale

October 27, 2021

The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Cebu, headed by District Collector Charlito Martin Mendoza, generated a total amount of Php17,757,500.00 from the public auction of 96 containers of various forfeited articles last Thursday, 21 October 2021.

The entire auction proceeding was live-streamed via the Port’s official Facebook page and was recorded through a body-worn camera pursuant to Customs Memorandum Order No. 33-2021.

The Auction and Cargo Disposal Unit Chief, Engr. Ronald D. Morillo, presided the sale and was assisted by Law Division Chief and Auction Committee Vice-Chairperson, Atty. Vicente Andrew M. Espina. The Deputy District Collector for Operations, Atty. Marc Anthony C. Patriarca, and other committee members from the Office of the District Collector, Enforcement and Security Service, and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service were also present during the event.

Under the leadership of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, the BOC expeditiously disposes forfeited goods to prevent port congestions while increasing the country’s efficiency in trade facilitation and revenue collection.
