The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG)
intercepted a P1.743 million worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) at the DHL Warehouse, Pasay City.
The composite team also arrested the claimant during controlled delivery operations on February 6 in Makati City.
The parcel, declared an antique french phone, arrived at the Port of NAIA from France on January 30. Upon physical examination, it contained 255 grams of a white crystalline substance.
Further PDEA laboratory testing validated that the substance was shabu.
The PDEA is conducting a custodial investigation of the claimant for inquest for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, also known as the Anti-Illegal Drugs Act, and RA 10863, also known as the Customs Modernization Act.
