BOC-NAIA & DHL Express conduct collaboration meeting for continuous partnership and improved services

In its effort to further promote and enhance ease of doing business, the Bureau of Customs-Port of NAIA (BOC-NAIA) headed by District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan met with DHL Express Philippines on November 02, 2021.

In attendance from DHL Express were Ms. Yati Abdullah, outgoing Country Manager and now the Vice President, Emerging Markets, Mr. Nigel Lockett, incoming Country Manager and Mr. Promod George, Director of Operations. Abdullah thanked the Port of NAIA for the strengthened partnership and collaboration in the recent years. She also emphasized that the momentum the Bureau of Customs, under the leadership of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, and DHL Express Philippines is gaining through automation will really improve efficiency of systems and processes and fast track all parcel shipments.

Promotion of e-commerce in and out of the Philippines, full automation of systems and processes, and supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are among the priorities that DHL and Bureau of Customs will continue to focus on.

Recently, the Port of NAIA had several engagements with government agencies such as the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPOST) to improve regulatory measures and inter-government processes.

On the other hand, the Port also engaged with non-governmental institutions and international non-profit banks such as the Asian Development Bank for a sharing of best practices and establishment of communication and cooperation to promote economic growth and fast-track humanitarian aid to the region through trade facilitation.
