As part of the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) commitment to improve and modernize customs processes, the Port of NAIA on November 09, 2021 conducted the CARES Portal Migration webinar for all BOC-NAIA employees and stakeholders.
The webinar was conducted by the Management Information Systems and Technology Group (MISTG) which was the main proponent in the upgrading of BOC systems and online processes. The Cares Portal replaces the previous Client Portal currently being used by BOC stakeholders.
The new portal aims to provide a more seamless and efficient processing of tickets while maintaining the key features of the old system to ensure familiarity and ease of use for its users. With the utilization of new servers the systems will avoid system latency and provide faster processing times for ticket transfers and query responses.
In her statement BOC NAIA District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan welcomed the upgrade to the BOC Portal. Collector Talusan acknowledged the increase of traffic in tickets being processed as transactions and importations increase. She also expressed the positive impact that the Portal upgrade signifies as it shows that the economy is beginning to bounce back and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The system shall be launched on November 15, 2021 and all BOC NAIA stakeholders reminded to register in the new system to avoid issues and delays. The Port of NAIA continues to support BOC initiatives under the guidance of BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero in fostering better and enhanced trade facilitation measures.
