As part of the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) efforts for continued partnership with stakeholders and to promote trade facilitation, the Port of NAIA on November 18, 2019 recognized the top twenty-five (25) importers for the second and third quarter of 2019 in an event held at the Fourth Floor Tower, NAIA-PairCargo, Pasay City. The event also marked the launching of the Goods Declaration Verification System (GDVS) kiosk and the BOC-NAIA-CCBI Helpdesk.
Present were representatives from the port’s top importers namely Samsung, Oppo and Globe Telecom Inc. and Phizer Philippines among others. Officials of the Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc.(CCBI), PairCargo and PAIR PAGS.
Samsung was hailed as the top importer for both the 2nd and 3rd quarter of 2019, contributing 9.7% and 8.08% respectively in the total collection of the Port. Oppo Philippines ranked number two (2) for the 2nd quarter, while Pfizer Philippines is the second top importer for the 3rd quarter. Globe Telecom Inc. came third for the 2nd quarter and Ardent Networks Inc. was recognized as the third top importer for the period of July to September 2019.
The Port of NAIA also launched the GDVS kiosk and BOC-NAIA-CCBI helpdesk aimed at providing prompt and informative updates to the port’s stakeholders.
District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, in her keynote speech, thanked all the importers for their support and their confidence in transacting their business with the Port of NAIA.
BOC-NAIA and it’s officials assured stakeholders that the Bureau shall continue to further improve its systems and processes to promote ease of doing business.
