BOC Joins Special Session of National Single Window Steering Committee

The Bureau of Customs (BOC), as Chair of the National Single Window – Technical Working Group (NSW-TWG), participated in the Special Session of the National Single Window Steering Committee (NSWSC) on 30 January 2025 at the Podium Conference Room, Department of Finance (DOF) Building, Manila City.

Presided over by DOF Undersecretary Atty. Charlito Martin R. Mendoza, the session assessed the progress of the National Single Window (NSW) implementation. Key discussions focused on improving interagency coordination, digital trade facilitation, and addressing challenges to optimize the system, to meet President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of a dynamic trade environment that drives inclusive economic growth for Filipino businesses and communities.

During the meeting, the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) provided updates on the proposed Public-Private Partnership Unsolicited Proposal (PPP-USP) entitled “Integrated Trade Facilitation Platform (NSW-ITFP) from the Joint Venture of Ascent Solutions Philippines, Inc. and JAMC Holdings Corp.

Representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), Department of Agriculture (DA), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) offered insights on the project and deliberated on the next steps to accelerate its efficiency.

As the lead agency in the NSW-TWG, the BOC reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the NSW initiative in alignment with the country’s broader trade facilitation goals. Under the leadership of Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, the BOC will continue to spearhead efforts to modernize customs processes and strengthen the country’s position in the global trade landscape.
