The Bureau of Customs – Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC NAIA) conducted coordination meetings with Partner Customs Facility and Warehouse (CFW) Operators to prepare for the influx of inbound parcels/packages this coming holiday season.
On Sept. 13, BOC NAIA District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan met with DHL officials to discuss arrangements for the expeditious release of high volumes of small parcels coming this ‘ber’ months.
DHL Express Philippines Country Manager Nigel Lockett, Head of Operations Promod George, Customs Clearance Manager Cecilia Paras, and other BOC NAIA chiefs attended the meeting.
DHL assured that they are reviewing their roster to add more personnel and will continuously coordinate with BOC NAIA for the prompt and immediate processing and release of gift imports from abroad.
Collector Talusan said that BOC NAIA is ready and had already placed proactive measures to address anticipated issues and concerns, including but not limited to implementing extended working hours, 24/7 x-ray examinations, regular k9 sweeping, and expedited clearances to avoid delays.
The Bureau of Customs NAIA will continue to be vigilant and committed to ensuring trade facilitation and implementing border protection initiatives against unsafe, dangerous, prohibited, and unregistered goods as directed by Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz.
