BOC-Clark Seizes P925K worth of Kush, Liquid Marijuana; Arrests Claimant in Parañaque City

The Bureau of Customs–Port of Clark, with operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), seized 588 grams of high-grade marijuana or kush and liquid marijuana contained in 45 pieces of Vape Cartridge, with an estimated value of P925,000.00 and arrested its claimant in Parañaque City.

The illegal drugs were found in a shipment marked “sweater gifts” which arrived on October 28 from Culver City, California, USA.

The shipment underwent a physical examination after x-ray examination showed a suspicious image.

Discovered were dried leaves suspected to be Kush and 45 pieces of vape cartridge supposed to contain liquid marijuana.

Representative samples retrieved by the PDEA for chemical laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of Tetrahydrocannabinol/ Marijuana, a dangerous drug under Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

District Collector Alexandra Lumontad immediately issued a Warrant of Seizure and Detention for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d), and 1113 par. f, i & l (3 & 4) of R.A. No. 10863 in relation to Section 4 of R.A. No. 9165.

The Customs Anti-illegal Drugs Task Force, Enforcement Group, Intelligence Group, and the PDEA conducted a controlled delivery operation on November 4 in Paranaque City, which led to the arrest of a 25-year-old male (1) claimant who lives in Don Bosco, Paranaque City.

To date, the Port of Clark seized P125 million worth of illegal drugs in 2022 and arrested 17 claimants in coordination with PDEA.

The BOC, under the leadership of Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz, is committed to adhere to the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., to strengthen border protection capabilities to prevent the entry of illegal drugs and other dangerous substances into the country.#
