BOC-Clark, CAIDTF, ESS, CIIS, XIP & PDEA Seize Three (3) 1000-ml Bottles of Tetrahydrocannabinol/Marijuana, Arrest Claimant in Parañaque

May 23, 2022

The Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark, in close coordination with the Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF), Enforcement & Security Service (ESS), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), X-ray Inspection Project (XIP) & Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), seized three (3) 1000-ML bottles of Marijuana Hash Oil “Tetrahydrocannabinol” with an estimated value of Php 216,000.00 and arrested the claimant in a controlled delivery operation last May 19, 2022.

The subject shipment arrived on May 9, 2022 from California, USA, said to contain “drinking tea.” The same underwent x-ray scanning and physical examination, which resulted in the findings of three (3) 1000-ml transparent bottles containing unknown liquid substance suspected to have illegal drugs.

The CAIDTF conducted K9 sweeping, which showed positive indications of illegal drugs, and field testing, which yielded positive result for the presence of “Mixture of HU-210 controlled substance: cannabidiol.” Representative samples were then taken from the liquid substance and turned over to PDEA for chemical laboratory analysis. The analysis confirmed that the samples are indeed “positive” for the presence of Tetrahydrocannabinol/Marijuana.

District Collector Alexandra Lumontad issued a Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) against the subject shipment for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d), and 1113 (f) of the Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10863, in relation to Section 4 of R.A. No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On May 19, 2022, the combined elements of BOC & PDEA conducted a controlled delivery operation in Paranaque City, which resulted in the arrest of one (1) claimant.

The Port of Clark will remain consistent to the anti-illegal drugs campaign of Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero and the continuous war on drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte.
