As part of the ongoing efforts to enhance trade facilitation, the BOC is working towards the full implementation of the National Single Window (NSW) and ASEAN Single Window (ASW) initiatives.

On May 3, 2024, the BOC participated in the Special Session of the NSW Steering Committee, which was Chaired by Finance Undersecretary Charlito Martin R. Mendoza, to discuss the Public-Private Partnership proposal received by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for the development of a new NSW system.

Upon the instructions of the NSW Steering Committee, the BOC convened a Special Session of the NSW Technical Working Group to further discuss and study the NSW proposal last May 24, 2024. The Special Session was Chaired by the Permanent Representative of the Chair of the NSW-TWG, Acting Deputy Commissioner Michael Fermin, from the Management Information Systems and Technology Group, BOC.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Fermin stressed the important role of the NSW Technical Working Group in ensuring that the NSW development would not only meet the needs of the agencies but also boost trade facilitation in the country.

During the Special Session, the NSW Technical Working Group discussed the position papers received from Trade Regulatory Government Agencies (TRGAs) after a copy of the Public-Private Partnership proposal for NSW was circulated for their review and comments.

The final output of the NSW Technical Working Group will be formally presented to the NSW Steering Committee in June 2024.

Currently, four trade regulatory government agencies are already using the TRADENET NSW system, while 18 additional TRGAs have been onboarded onto the staging/testing environment.
