BOC-NAIA Passes its 2nd Surveillance Audit for ISO 9001:2015 Certification

August 9, 2023

The Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) has successfully passed its second Surveillance Audit for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) certification. This achievement highlights BOC-NAIA’s dedication to efficiency and transformation within government service.

Conducted on 3-4 August 2023 by TUVSUD Philippines, a respected certification authority, the audit underscores BOC-NAIA’s commitment to international quality standards.

BOC-NAIA’s ISO-certified processes have increased from 21 to 22 this year, along with 11 ISO support processes — the only port with the most number of certified processes.

The audit yielded positive results, showcasing BOC-NAIA’s adherence to ISO standards with no major or minor non-conformities. Notably, one (1) Positive Finding and eight (8) Opportunities for Improvement were identified.

District Collector Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa highlighted the importance of ISO certification to the BOC-NAIA as a gateway to international travelers. The BOC-NAIA serves as a model port to the international community and having ISO-certified processes would enhance cargo clearance and releasing and promote ease of doing business.

Under Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio’s leadership, the BOC will remain steadfast in ensuring a modernized and credible customs administration.#
