BOC, AmCham PH Meet to Discuss Trade Concerns and Updates

Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio recently met with American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) of the Philippines Executive Director Ebb Hinchliffe to discuss various issues and concerns affecting American and Philippine businesses in the country.

During the meeting, Commissioner Rubio expressed his gratitude to the American Chamber of Commerce for its continuous drive towards achieving a common goal of contributing to the socio-economic growth of the Philippines by promoting American and Philippine businesses.

The Commissioner also presented the BOC’s Five-Point Priority Program, which aims to improve efficiency, upgrade systems and processes, and promote integrity and professionalism. He highlighted that 96.39% of customs processes have been digitalized, which has expedited the processing of shipments while simplifying and securing the facilitation of trade.

The agencies discussed various issues and concerns related to Customs trade procedures and guidelines, as well as border control and security measures. The discussion aimed to address concerns and ensure that goods entering and exiting the country are compliant and secure.

Commissioner Rubio expressed his openness to collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, saying, “We believe that through continuous collaboration and dialogue with our partners, such as the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, we can achieve our goals and make significant contributions to the country’s socio-economic growth.”#
