BOC-Port of Cebu and DSWD-7 Share Best Practices

November 11, 2021

After a successful governance sharing with DTI-7 last October 29, the Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Cebu hosted another round of governance sharing session, this time, with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office VII (DSWD-7) last Thursday, November 4, 2021.

Deputy Collector for Administration Ms. Shirley N. Abarintos presented the Port’s PGS journey, emphasizing the cascading and monitoring strategies. Meanwhile, Customer Service Officers Joshua Tan and Juel Romeo Q. Songkit II discussed the best practices in the Port’s Customer Care Center.

DSWD-7 Regional Director Rebecca P. Geamala and Assistant Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, on the other hand, led the DSWD-7 in presenting the agency’s PGS journey and improved customer service processes.

Port of Cebu Acting District Collector Charlito Martin R. Mendoza thanked the DSWD-7 for the opportunity to share with each other their PGS journeys and best practices. “To be able to see and learn from DSWD’s governance practices is, in a way, like looking at a continuation of the work we do at BOC in service of the Filipino,” he said, noting that the Bureau’s immediate social impact is primarily through the DSWD.
