BOC-Davao cleans-up Offices, employees reminded to observe 5S Standard

November 11, 2021

Employees of the Bureau of Customs – Port of Davao led by District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino Austria conducted a clean-up drive in all Offices on November 6, 2021. Atty. Austria likewise reminded them to always observe the 5S Standard (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).

During the clean-up operations, all employees were tasked to arrange all documents following the 5S standards. The Offices’ walls and the building facade were also repainted and the drainage system was cleaned to prevent clogging.

The Enforcement Security Service (ESS) also inspected areas that need renovations for the safety of employees and the transacting stakeholders.

Furthermore, this is part of the Port’s preparation for the upcoming Stage 2 External Audit of the ISO 9001:2015, where external auditors will physically inspect all services and the multi-dimensional infrastructure of the Port as it bids to become the first ISO certified Customs Office in the entire Mindanao.
