BRIEFER: 27 NOVEMBER – 02 DECEMBER 2017 AT THE POM

In summary, the Port of Manila processed 7,305 Entriesranging from Transshipment, Warehousing, Export, Formal and Informal – generally for the period of 27 November – 02 December 2017, among which 61 containers containing Balikbayan boxes were processed.

There were three (3) Warrant of Seizure Detention (WSD) issued by the Law Division and no Alert Order issued. There were fifteen (15) lots successfully auctioned for the said period while there are none scheduled for auction.

POM’s Status Verification System (SVS)

The 3rd SVS kiosk is ready for deployment and is simply awaiting its CPU.  Once deployed there will be a total of three (3) SVS kiosk, two (2) SVS kiosk at the POM lobby while another at the back door of the Social Hall.

Redesigned “Complaint and Suggestion Boxes”

Around nine (9) additional redesigned “Complaint and Suggestion Boxes” (2nd batch) were deployed around the POM Building.  Just like the 1st batch, the 2nd batch also features, among others, the following – 1)  See-through window for easier verification if it contains any comments, suggestions or complaint so much so that POM can immediately act on the matter;  2)  Forms pocket, to securely hold the feedback forms instead of just being placed near the boxes and sometimes just simply blown away;  3)  Representative icons on “Anti-Fixer”, “Anti-Corruption”, “Anti-Red Tape” and “No Noon Break”; and, 4)  Others  (e.g.  ODC Hotline, Notice that any comments, suggestions or complaints will be appreciated by POM in order to serve better,  and other useful information).

Memorandum on Overtime

For easier verification of claims for overtime pay, an “Overtime Logbook” was constituted and placed at the Supplies Unit of the Administrative Division.  Thus, overtimers during regular working days must also log-out through the Overtime Logbook and on all other days must both log-in and log-out through the Overtime Logbook.

Holy Masses

Holy Masses were celebrated at the POM lobby on 29 November and 01 December 2017.

GREEN THUMB: POM’s Environmental Initiative

As a continuing project, a few additional plants were introduced at the said gardens.

Coaching and Mentoring

The coaching and mentoring of Contract of Service personnel at the Administrative Division is ongoing and will end early part of January 2018.

Skeletal Force

POM was open to serve the transacting public last 30 November 2017 (Bonifacio Day).  Memo to POM Offices to constitute skeletal force on that day, letters to the banks and other related parties were issued as early as 21 November 2017.

POM Facebook Page

The POM Facebook page was updated with its new posts on the following

–      Boarding formalities on the maiden port call of cruise ship M/S World Dream

–      Back-to-back POM highest collection history with the first on October 2017 having collected 7.1 Billion, which was surpassed in November 2017 having collected 7.43 Billion.

“If we did things we are capable of, we would astound ourselves”. – Thomas Edison
