The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Davao attended an enforcement cluster meeting on illegal drugs at the PDEA Regional Office XI in Davao City last Sept. 27.
During the meeting, the far east region’s drug trends, illegal drug interdiction operations, and “OPLAN KALINAW,” a joint area security community service and protection operation plan of the Philippine National Police, were discussed.
The port is a member of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) Coordinating Group (RICG) XI.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI presented its accomplishment report for the First Semester of the year.
Felix A. Espino III, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) Chief, and Sp/Lt. Jah T. Atencia, Enforcement Security Service (ESS) District Commander, represented BOC-Davao.
Member agencies, such as PDEA XI, PNP XI, and the Seaport Interdiction Unit on Anti-illegal Drugs, also attended the meeting.
Davao District Collector Erastus Sandino Austria said that the port, under the guidance of Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz, would continue to collaborate with other law enforcement agencies in maintaining efforts to curb smuggling in the country, aligned with the marching orders of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr to BOC. #
