BOC Assures Support for Durian Farmers

November 1, 2022

Officials of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Davao and Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian visited a durian farm for talks on ways to assist industry players in the export process for the product and boost overall agricultural export to China.

The talks at the Belviz Durian Farm in Calinan, Davao City, were part of the Chinese embassy’s program to open their country as a market for Mindanao-grown fruit.

District Collector Erastus Sandino B. Austria spoke with members of the Durian Industry Association of Davao last Friday, October 28, 2022.

Austria assured the farmers that the bureau was ready to help growers to remove technicalities as barriers to making Filipino agriculture accessible worldwide. Under Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz’s guidance, the BOC-Davao, led by Austria, will continue to ease business conduct to encourage foreign investors to transact with the Port. This is aligned with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ 8-point economic plan.#
