1 May 21, 2018, Port of Legazpi, celebrated its 146th Founding Anniversary by holding a thanks-giving mass and Office Blessing of the newly renovated POD building.
2 May 22, 2018, Port of Legazpi, organized a one-day Strategic Planning in Camvias Resort, Sto. Domingo, Albay, participated in by all personnel of the Port.

Brief Narrative (May 21-25, 2018)

For the period May 21-25, 2018, Bureau of Customs, Port of Legazpi, had processed and recorded eight (8) entries assessed with a total duties and taxes amounting to Php24,951,712.58, to wit:

Three (3) formal entries consigned to –

  1. Apo Cement Corporation with a shipment of 6,382MT Portland Cement via MV                      Bothwin 7
  2. Davao Multibuild Corporation with a shipment of 5,000MT Portland Cement via MV Phuong Nam 68
  3. Davao Bay Coco Oil with a shipment of 2,000MT Palm Oil via MV Topaz-T

There is one (1) export entry of Philippine Gold Processing and Refining Corp. (PGPRC) consisting of nineteen (19) boxes of Gold Dore weighing 327.18kgs., for shipment to Switzerland.

Further are four (4) informal entries processed at Postal Naga assessed in the total amount of Php10,973.00.

Significant Events/Activities:

May 21, 2018:  The founding Anniversary of BOC Legazpi was celebrated with a simple but meaningful activities. The Port Operations Division Office (POD) building was decorated and was temporarily turned into a small function hall to show how significant the event was. It started with the usual flag raising ceremony, followed by a thanks-giving mass attended by all personnel, and highlighted by the blessing of the newly renovated POD building. It was concluded by a simple lunch or salo-salo after the Eucharistic Celebration shared by all personnel.

May 22, 2018: The Bureau of Customs, Port of Legazpi organized a one-day Strategic Planning at Camvias Resort, Sto. Domingo, Albay headed by District Coll.  Arsenia C. Ilagan. The first part of the activity started with the discussion on how to improve revenue collection, and how to reach out for possible additional importers and exporters. The personnel also discussed on the 2020 and 2019 budget proposals of the Port. The second part of the activity consisted of group games intended to enhance and strengthen the teamwork and cooperation of the personnel.

Coll. Ilagan, in her message, said that the main purpose of these activities is not only to strategize the Port’s Plan of Actions but also to motivate and encourage the personnel to work hand-in-hand as a team. She stressed that a strong positive relationship will result to better performances in a conducive working environment. This will enhance efficiency and help make it possible to hit and surpass the target with all personnel knowing that each of them, no matter how small, has an important role to play for the bureau.
