In support of the Bureau’s staunchest partner in trade advancement and export development, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) took part in the two-day National Exporters’ Week (NEW) sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Dec. 5-6 at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.
The NEW is an annual event organized by the DTI, the Export Development Council, and the Philippine Exporter’s Confederation, Inc.
The BOC joined the various activities lined up for the event, which included the Export Enablers Exhibit, which provided BOC with a venue to maximize its reach to more stakeholders and cater to their needs. Several exporters visited the BOC booth and inquired about the Bureau’s export procedures and policies.
The BOC also showcased various systems and innovations, such as the Customer Care Portal System (CCPS), Goods Declaration and Verification System, and Document Tracking System.
Lawyer Jenny Diokno, the Port of Manila’s Chief of Export Division, was one of the resource speakers of the Usapang Exports Plus as part of the NEW celebration.
Atty Diokno discussed the processing and cancellation of ED through the CCPS, a system used by stakeholders for the online processing of their goods declaration, export declaration, and customs accreditation, among others.
The DTI also recognized various government agencies, including the BOC, for their support and contribution as critical partners in fostering an enabling business and collaborative climate for exporters toward the development and growth of the export industry.
Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon L. Ruiz and Port of Manila District Collector Michael Angelo Vargas received the award.
The Customs Chief thanked the DTI for the recognition given to BOC.
Ruiz likewise thanked the DTI for its unwavering support of the Bureau’s efforts to boost trade and strengthen border security in keeping with the socio-economic agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. #
