The Bureau of Customs (BOC) surpassed its revenue collection for the month, posting P65.801 billion from January 1 to 27 alone, up from the P58.822 billion target set by the government.
As of January 27, the initial collection for the year was higher by 11.9 percent or P6.98 billion. There is an increase of 13.1 percent, or P7.627 billion, compared to its P58.174 billion collections during the same period in 2022.
Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz continues to lead the BOC in implementing stringent measures to counter illicit trade and Customs fraud while improving trade facilitation and increasing lawful revenue collection in line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
