MICP Seizes php 9M Worth of Smuggled Agricultural Products

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) inspected a warehouse owned by Morehouse Marketing in Brgy. Ugong, Valenzuela City on October 8, 2021, resulting in the seizure of smuggled agricultural products such as red onions, carrots with an estimated value of Php 9 Million.

The inspection was carried out, thru a Letter of Authority from the Commissioner of Customs, by a joint team from the Manila International Container Port – Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (MICP-CIIS) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Task Force Aduana. The implementing team found at the subject warehouse an estimated 8,000 sacks of thousands of Red Onions together with other agricultural products such as ginger and mung beans.

Warrants of Seizure and Detention (WSD) will be issued against the subject agricultural products, once inventory therein has been finished, in accordance with Section 1113 of Customs Modernization and Tariff Act and existing regulations of the Bureau of Plant Industry.
