BOC-Surigao Holds First Online Stakeholders’ Forum
In line with the Commissioner’s 10-Point Priority Program for 2020 to Enhance Trade Facilitation and to Enhance Stakeholders’ Engagement, the Bureau of Customs Port of Surigao held the first online Stakeholders’ Forum on Latest Customs Procedures on November 18, 2020 via Zoom Meeting and live streaming on Facebook.
A warm welcome remark was delivered by District Collector Noli P. Santua Jr., on behalf of the resilient and diligent men and women at the BOC Port of Surigao. He expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders who took time to participate in the webinar. It was attended by importers, exporters, brokers and port users in the Caraga region.
Collector Santua further stressed that the online forum would be a good platform to strengthen good working relationships with the stakeholders and thereby provide a great venue to shed light on the queries in the different areas of concern in relation to the recent Customs rules, policies and reforms.
A brief lecture on Customs Operations Procedures was done by Mr. John Phillip B. Pura, Acting Chief Bay Service Section, followed by Port Operations Division Chief Mr. Leo F. Azarcon’s talk on Documentary Requirements for Processing of Permits to Board and Permit to Shipside. Ms. Fritzzy Lei G. Nacario, COO III of the Export Division gave a review on the Export Procedures and brief details on the amendment/cancellation of Export Declaration in relation to AOCG Memorandum Order No. 164-2020.
On the other hand, Assessment Division Chief Ms. Corazon R. Carnicer presented the Procedures, Documentations and Updates in the Filing of Goods Declaration followed by a discussion on Fines and Surcharges under Customs Administrative Order 01-2020 by Ms. Analou A. Hila-os, Acting Chief, Customs PEZA.
The said activity was facilitated by Administrative Division Chief Mr. Bryan Daryl C. Calang, also the head of Customer Care Center of the Port, who assured the stakeholders of upcoming series of webinars in the first quarter of 2021.
