BOC Port of Legazpi Conducts Webinar on Customs Policies and Operations

In the bid to ensure that its stakeholders engagement is undisrupted in the face of the pandemic, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Legazpi conducted its 1st Webinar on Customs Policies and Operations via Zoom Teleconference and Facebook Live on November 19, 2020.

The conducted Webinar is a two-and-a-half-hour activity that discussed topics on Customs Jurisdiction and Control, Port Operations Process, Assessment Issuances and Fines and Surcharges. The topics were presented by Deputy Collector for Operations Vincent A. Villanueva, Acting Chief of Port Operations Division Minnette M. Arcilla, Mr. John P. Matias from the Office of the Deputy Collector for Assessment, and Acting Customs Principal Appraiser Cris G. Paller, respectively.

Attended by various importers, exporters, arrastre operators and agents transacting with the Port of Legazpi, through the webinar, the stakeholders were encouraged to give comments and suggestions on how to further improve the Port’s services.

In her statement, District Collector Arsenia C. Ilagan underscored that the webinar, under the 10-Point Priority Program of the Commissioner, is intended to brief and update the stakeholders on the latest issuances, policies and operational processes for more efficient transactions and observance of existing customs rules and regulations. Further, the engagement is a platform to bolster the delivery of service of the agency through a cooperative collaboration with the Bureau’s stakeholders.
