BOC Facilitates Technical Working Group Meeting with Trade Regulatory Government Agencies
At least 67 Trade Regulatory Government Agencies (TRGAs) have gathered during the 3rd National Single Window – Technical Working Group (NSW-TWG) Virtual Meeting on 31 August 2021. The virtual meeting was presided by Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero as Chairperson of the NSW-TWG.
ARTA Director General Secretary Jeremiah B. Belgica and BOC MISTG Deputy Commissioner Allan C. Geronimo were also present to report the progress of their initiatives as NSW-TWG Vice-Chairs for the period of January – August 2021.
Seven (7) TRGAs were recognized to lead the NSW-TWG Clusters and to monitor the compliance of TRGAs on the mandatory onboarding to the TRADENET platform as endorsed by the EODB-ART Advisory Council through Resolution No. 12, Series of 2020, and Memorandum Circular No. 2021-01.
The appointed NSW-TWG Cluster Chairs include: Department of Agriculture for the Agriculture and Food Cluster, Department of Finance-Central Management Information Office (CMIO) for the
ASEAN Single Window Cluster, Strategic Trade Management Office (STMO) for the Chemicals, Oils, Minerals, Environment, Drugs and Dangerous Goods Cluster, DOF – Revenue Office (RO) for the Tax and Duty Exempt Cluster, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the Relief, Consignment, and Foreign Donations Cluster, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for the Ecozones and Freeport Zones Cluster and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for the Logistics and Port Operations Cluster.
The succeeding NSW-TWG Cluster Meetings will be facilitated by its respective Cluster Chairs and the BOC NSW-TWG Secretariat.
The NSW-TWG was established under Executive Order No. 482, s. 2005 also known as the National Single Window Task Force for Cargo Clearance (NSW Task Force). It is responsible for the implementation of policies and activities incumbent for the establishment, implementation, operation and monitoring of the NSW through the identification of common definitions, standardization of data, delineation of definitive roles and responsibilities of each participating agency, and creation of a general conceptual framework, mechanisms and other information technology (IT) instruments.
