BOC exceeds February collection target
Amid the Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic and its effect to the overall trading environment, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) collected P46.145 billion against its P42.157 billion February 2021 collection target, posting a surplus of P3.988 billion or 9.5%
Based on the preliminary report from the BOC-Financial Service, 10 of the 17 Collection Districts surpassed its collection target for the month of February 2021, namely, the Port of Legaspi, Port of Tacloban, Port of Cagayan De Oro, Port of Subic, Port of Batangas, Port of Iloilo, Port of Clark, Port of Davao, Port of Manila, and Manila International Container Port.
Last January, the bureau also surpassed its monthly revenue collection target by 7.4% or P3.277 billion. Indeed, the bureau continues to prove the intensified collective efforts of all ports this year, not to mention, the improvement of volume of importation, as well as the government’s effort in ensuring unhampered movement of goods while maintaining border security and trade facilitation.
BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero again commended the efforts of the men and women of the Bureau of Customs who, despite the risk to their health and safety, showed their unwavering commitment and dedication to service.
