On 11 May 2024, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) officially published Customs Administrative Order (CAO) No. 02-2024, which aims to identify the different Service Fees, Dues, and Charges to be collected by the BOC from various stakeholders for services rendered by BOC personnel; ensure consistency in the rates of Service Fees, Dues, and Charges levied by the BOC; and establish a mechanism for the payment of overtime work and other services provided by the BOC.

The Bureau of Customs Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA), in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), successfully intercepted an illegal shipment of 36 scorpion heads and one container of isopods without requisite permits from DENR on May 14, 2024.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) completed the roll-out of the e-Travel Customs System in all international airports. With this, all arriving and departing passengers can now fill-out the electronic Customs Baggage Declaration Form (e-CBDF) and electronic Currencies Declaration Form (e-CDF), as applicable, using the e-Travel website at https://etravel.gov.ph/ or by downloading the eGovPH application within 72 hours [three (3) days] prior to arrival into or departure from the Philippines.

The Bureau of Customs – Manila International Container Port (BOC-MICP), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), successfully intercepted a shipment from Thailand suspected to contain illegal drugs, which were declared as household items, shoes, and motor parts.

In a joint operation, the Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA), with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), intercepted a shipment containing ecstasy with estimated value of PhP68 million.
